August Bruce

 August is from Kansas City, MO where she grew up playing Bluegrass in her family's band the Bluegrass Brigade. August currently lives in Walker County, GA with her husband Eric.  Both are founding members of BFN&Co. 

 
In addition to playing and singing, August is also an accomplished songwriter.  Three of her songs were recorded on BFN&Co.'s debut album in 2010:  "South River", a ghost story and the album title, "Cryin' Fields", which is about the dust bowl and "Forever Friend", a gospel song which was also selected to be on the "Scenic City Sampler" Music Collection CD featuring Chattanooga Musicians and Songwriters.
